Computing the eigenvalues and the eigenvectors of a matrix using the bimodal optical computer: Examples and analysis

Abstract

The eigenvalues and the eigenvectors of a positive definite matrix are computed using the inverse iteration method and the bimodal optical computer (BOC). Two examples are studied and analyzed in this paper. The number of iterations and the accuracy of the eigenvalues are studied versus the noise of the optical system and the accuracy of the BOC.
