Developing a Nation through Educational Emiratization

On the tenth anniversary of the Higher Colleges of Technology’s transformational Bachelor of Education degree, this third volume of the HCT Teacher Education series describes, analyzes and reflects on the genesis, implementation and implications of the program on United Arab Emirates education.

By linking a critical understanding of the local context to international best practice in teacher education, the HCT program has evolved into the most extensive and innovative teacher education program in the UAE. Papers are by HCT faculty, who have been involved in all elements of the program, including development, implementation and evaluation of the curriculum, and through their extensive mentoring relationships with Emirati students as they learn to be practising classroom teachers.

This book will be of interest to teacher educators, practising teachers, educational leaders, and anyone interested in teacher education in the Gulf region and Arab world.
